Mizzentop Day School, located in the Village of Pawling, is hosting an Open House for those parents wanting to explore an independent school education for their pre-school through eighth-grade child/ren Saturday, January 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Those visiting the school will be able to tour the campus and meet faculty, parents and student representatives. As the result of small class sizes, Mizzentop’s dedicated and experience faculty are able to use a wide variety of instructional techniques in core academic subjects, as well as computers, music, drama, physical education, art and foreign language at all grade levels. Integration of curriculum helps students understand the interrelationships of these subject areas, and a focus on higher-level critical thinking skills and problem-solving activities help the school meet its mission of providing students with a life-long love of learning. The incorporation of 12 Living Values and student involvement in community service allow the curriculum to round out the personal growth of each student.
A club program, extracurricular activities in music and drama, and interscholastic sports (soccer, field hockey, basketball and lacrosse), all conducted under the purview of the school’s mission, provide additional opportunities for the teaching of valuable life skills. Mizzentop offers a variety of pre-kindergarten programming, along with before care, after care, and summer programs.
MISSION: “Mizzentop Day School, an independent, co-educational day school for students in Early Childhood through Grade 8, provides a stimulating and innovative educational program dedicated to instilling living values and a love of life-long learning in each student. “
The school provides an innovative educational program designed to build a love of learning in every child. Mizzentop offers full day and before and after school programs to accommodate the needs of working parents.
