Summer Concert Series: Arts on the Lake Jazz Ensemble

Led by arranger, composer and trumpeter Tim Ouimette, the Ensemble consists of consummate jazz musicians who have played with: Harry James, Joe Cocker, Lou Rawls, Eubie Blake, Gregory Hines, Ray Charles, Blood Sweat and Tears, Bill Frisell, Count Basie, and Iggy Pop. For more Information, click here.

Bassist Jeremy McCoy will be the second event in this year’s Friends of Classical Music Series. Mr. McCoy is Assistant Principal double bass with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. At age twenty, Jeremy won a position with the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada. The following season he joined the MET in 1985. Mr. McCoy performs extensively and he is a founding member of Sequitur and Ensemble Sospeso. He also appears regularly with Speculum Musicae, presenting premiere performances and recordings of chamber works by eminent contemporary composers. In addition to his orchestral duties, he maintains an active role as soloist, chamber musician, studio session player and teacher. For more Information, click here.
An Evening with  Malachy McCourt and Friends

Sunday, August 20, at 6:30 pm
A book signing and talk by Malachy McCourt marks the publishing of his latest book,”Death need not be Fatal.” This special evening includes dinner at the Sedgewood Club and a copy of the book. Music will be provided throughout the evening by Midhat Serbagi (Viola), Pallas Athene (Cello), and Buddy Griffith (Bass). This event is a fundraiser for both Arts on the Lake and Tompkins Corners Cultural Center. For more Information, click here.
