Bill Crain tells stories about the animals at Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary, located in Poughquag, a few miles from Pawling. The sanctuary provides a permanent home for farm animals rescued from slaughter and abuse. It cares for over 100 animals, including goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks, and two horses and a pig. Bill, and his wife, Ellen, founded the sanctuary in 2008. Ellen is a retired pediatrician. Bill is a professor of psychology at The City College of New York.
