I really enjoyed stepping out with Joseph Friday evening in the town of Patterson, NY to attend the very festive opening of Front Street Gallery’s latest exhibit entitled “One Two Three Four”.
Once inside, we were invited to view the many beautiful paintings with a hearty “Try the cheese dip, you’ll love it.” Then with glass of seltzer in hand, we enjoyed the works of four very talented artists: Phil Goldstein; Helen A. Koehler; Linda Puiatti; Mary Smoot Souter. Every painting illuminated the gallery, each meaningful on its own merit differing with the unique perspective of the artist. Please see the photograph of artist Phil Goldstein’s work. The frame is composed of metal (as are the subjects and frames around his works) crafted in the spirit of his paintings . Mr. Goldstein’s paintings of everyday objects really fascinated us. Mary Smoot Souter’s works beautifully depicted the agricultural as well as horticultural life here with a portrait of a lovely brown cow as well as her wistful painting of delicate pink peonies; Linda Puiatti’s graceful landscapes are enthralling leaving one with a sense of colorful peace over spacious lands. The waterscapes painted by Helen A. Koehler gently beckon us to the ocean, beautiful and beguiling both day and night. Many thanks to Jeremy Wolff, Linda Puiatti, Curator and everyone at Front Street Gallery for bringing creativity, sparkle, and fine art to our community. This is an exhibit not to be missed. “ONE TWO THREE FOUR“ can be viewed through Labor Day. Gallery Hours Wednesday thru Friday 11-3pm; Saturday and Sunday 10-2pm and by appointment.
