Christine O’Neill Interviewed author Vivek Tiwary. Below is a summary of the interview…
On Friday, August 22 at 7pm the Pawling Free Library will host a talk by Vivek Tiwary.
Mr. Tiwary, a Patterson resident, will be discussing his best-selling graphic novel, “The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story,” based on the life of the Beatles’ manager.
While the idea for this graphic novel came from a childhood fascination with Brian Epstein, Tiwary’s compelling background in business, music, and film helped him turn that dream into a reality. In addition to noveling, Tiwary’s has also produced Broadway shows, which have cumulatively earned 25 Tony awards from 44 Tony nominations – for instance, “A Raisin in the Sun,” “The Producers,” and “American Idiot,” the stage adaptation of Green Day’s multi-platinum album.
He has also sold a sitcom pilot to CBS as well as developed a children’s film- and television-franchise based on a series of tween graphic novels.
Somehow, Tiwary also finds time to serve on the Board of Directors for Valiant Entertainment (a company that the New York Times has referred to as “Marvel 2.0”).
Furthermore, his love for music has led him to co-found the nonprofit, “Musicians on Call,” which uses music and entertainment to complement the healing process.
