I am currently coaching a client through a very difficult transition in her life. My work is to help her stay connected to her truth so that in those moments when doubt and confusion come in and force her to question her choice, she can again remember what she truly wants and who she truly is.
Transitioning from the past to an unknown, yet imagined future, requires much strength and courage, because the space in between is the most vulnerable place one can be. The transitional space is a bridge from past to future, over a chasm us fear, doubt, confusion and insecurity that threatens to swallow us up.
Life is fraught with fear, doubt, confusion and insecurity. Sometimes it takes over so completely, that it rattles our ability to do simple things like choose what to order on a restaurant menu. I have had several clients come to me based on the fact that they had gotten so lost in trusting their choices they could no longer decide what to order off the menu in a restaurant.
Hopefully we have people in our lives that can remind us of the deeper truth of who we are when we are in this insecure place, and reconnect us with the strength within us to move forward. From that place of strength, centeredness and firm ground, we can cross the bridge and grow into the life that is waiting to unfold within us on the other side.
It requires, trust, strength and courage to move forward and blossom into our full selves, despite the twists, turns and detours along the way. We can cultivate these qualities when we are in smaller transitional places, standing by the smaller decisions we make, knowing the consequences will not be life altering if the result is less than perfect.
I love my work and feel honored that I am invited into people’s lives to help provide what they need to move forward, while helping them remember the qualities are there within them to be cultivated. This level of provision was often missing from our earlier lives—unconditional love and support, agenda free, encouraging and cultivating them to trust themselves to make the right choices for what they need and want in their lives, and to love themselves for the beautiful being that they are.
As we give this to each other on our life journey, we all find the strength and courage to transition from a past, limited by familial and cultural conditioning, and cross the bridge to a future of unlimited potential and self actualization.
All the best~
