I love this time of year—it is a transitional period between the old and the new. An opportunity to look back at what has transpired and to digest all that happened. An opportunity to look forward and ask the potentially profound question: Who do I want to be in this new year?
It is a still time, after the rush, clatter and clutter of the holidays that were sometimes joyful in connecting to so many of those we love, yet often don’t have regular contact with in our day to day lives. It is a time to metabolize all that passed through us: the richness, the laughter, the love of those connections.
It is a time for reflection on what emotions came up over the holidays, perhaps unprocessed grief from those lost to us this year, or over the years, that we want to take time to quietly pay homage to and honor with our remembrance.
The light touch of the tool Did Well/Do Better can be put to good use: What did I do well this past year; where am I most proud of my accomplishments, stepping out of my usual zone of comfort? What would I like to do better in the year to come, to help me become more of the person I long to be? To express new ways of being that stretch me to discover new dimensions of who I am?
Oftentimes it does not require a radical shift in our life—just small changes, better choices that move us toward more optimum health, well-being and fullness.
Will you take the time this moment offers to recognize the abundance that is in all of our lives through our connections with loved ones, with the beauty of nature that surrounds us, the potential of being that each one of us holds in our own unique way just waiting for expression?

When we feel gratitude bloom in our heart for all that we have and all that is possible, this precious time we are given becomes an opportunity for more that we can imagine: a glorious full life well lived.
