Kevin James Brunow, a resident of Patterson, NY and formerly of Pawling, NY, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 61.
Born in Danbury, CT on March 19, 1953 to Jules and Thelma (Schoonmaker) Brunow,
Kevin graduated from Pawling High School and worked as a mechanic at Riley’s Garage on East Main Street, Pawling for many years; he then worked for 20+ years at Bailey’s T.V. and Appliances on Memorial Boulevard.
Kevin was a diehard Mets fan and an avid NASCAR fan. He was also a Saturday night race fan at Lebanon Valley and Middletown, NY.
He is survived by his mother, Thelma, of Wassaic; his daughter, Corrine McDonnell of Lugoff, SC; four brothers, Willis Hanson of Wingdale, Wayne Brunow of Laughlin, NV, Garvin Brunow of Pawling, and Dennis Brunow of Dover Plains; two sisters, Donna Brown of Wassaic and Mildred Bailey of Holmes; his best friend, Rena O’Brien of Patterson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 8th from 4-7 PM, with a funeral service at 6:30 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a continuing education fund is being set up for his daughter, Corrine McDonnell, at the Putnam County Savings Bank, 63 East Main Street, Pawling, NY 12564.
