It was another great season for the Pawling High School Varsity Outdoor Track and Field team this spring, in which five athletes qualified to compete in the state championship. These athletes included Mike Konchan (junior), Colin Souter (senior), Taylor Souter (senior), Kevin Hunter (senior), and Scott Porter (senior). The events included the 4 by 8 consisting of Kevin Hunter, Taylor Souter, Colin Souter, and Mike Konchan in which they won the state championship in division two (small schools) and 8th overall in the state (large and small schools). The same athletes ran the 4 by 4 and came in 5th place in division two.
The personal events included Kevin Hunter who ran the 400 meter race and won the small school state title (6th overall) and Scott Porter who was Pawling’s only field event participant, competing in the pole vault and coming in 12th overall in division two. Congratulations to the Pawling Tiger Athletes for all of their accomplishments, and best of wishes to the seniors in their future endeavors.
Special thanks to Matt Jorgenson for supplying me with all of the info.
