As winter approaches The Pawling Resource Center is preparing for colder weather by making room for donations of winter outer wear. Donations of winter coats, jackets, hats, and gloves are now being collected before frigid temperatures set in.
Donations may be brought to the center located at 126 East Main Street in Pawling. The center will accept items that are gently used and in good condition. Jackets and coats are being sought in both adult and children’s sizes.
The Resource Centers regular services continue year-round. These include providing rides for medical appointments and loans of medical equipment such as walkers, hospital beds and other ambulatory equipment.
The Center’s food pantry is continuously re-stocked for those in need, services have been expanded to include arranging delivery to home bound residents within the community, and offering rides to Hannaford’s on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
Additionally, a SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) consultant is on site once a month for those who would like information about this valuable program.
This month the consultant, Elena Dalia, from Catholic Charities, will be available. Also, Dress for Success referrals are available for anyone seeking employment who needs that all important interview outfit or business suit, or help with compiling an outstanding resume.
