This is definitely munchkin time at PPR!
After having hosted the Mizzentop first and second grade tour of the PPR studio two weeks ago, the staff had the pleasure of facilitating the recording of original holiday poems written by Mrs. Sawotka’s fifth grade class.
Twenty two fifth graders descended on the studio at 26 East Main Street in the Village, each with a well written, highly descriptive personal poem to read. With Mrs. Sawotka sitting by their side for support during the recording process, the students came into the studio one at a time, and beautifully read into the microphone. Engineer Andrew Nathans made each one feel comfortable, and helped to alleviate any nervous feelings.
The recording session concluded with all twenty two children recording a happy holiday message and they even had enough time left to record a station promo before the yellow school bus whisked them back to the middle school, with each student holding onto a Pawling Public Radio t-shirt ; a special gift to them from all of us here at PPR. Their promo will be played during our broadcast day well beyond the holiday season, and will specifically play during our children’s programming on Saturday mornings from 7 to 10 a.m.
Listen in to PPR Monday through Friday at 4pm and 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday’s at 2pm and 8pm through the end of December and hear the truly wonderful poems of Pawling Middle School’s fifth grade. Their little voices will warm your heart!
