I’m Rebecca, a lifelong Dover resident and I’m here to broaden your horizons, or at least your calendars to include events in your sister community!
This week we have some great programs starting up in Dover Plains!
The Dover Day Camp kicks off its annual program at Boyce Park on Monday July 7th! This week includes swimming at nearby Camp Berkshire, a field trip to Bounce! in Poughkeepsie, and a Pajama day! It’ll surely be a very exciting week as Dover welcomes back campers for a season full of fun!
For more summer fun, the Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp starts a five day program, also at Boyce Park, on Monday the 7th! Young Athletes will get a chance to learn new skills and get advice from engaging coaches!
While the camps are going on, Boyce park will be quite full, so if you’d like to visit, I’d suggest coming in the late afternoon.
If you have kids who are not in the camp, or if you’d just like to have a little air conditioning, the Dover Library is also hosting a few summer events. Most importantly, the Library is hosting their annual book sale from 10am-4pm on Saturday July 12th! Pick up a few good reads in the air conditioned lobby of the Dover Plains Library!
Preschool story-time is available on Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 with no registration required. Also on Wednesday, the Dover Library kicks off summer reading with an animal presentation with whole cast of furry and scaly characters brought by the Animal Embassy! The Library also hosts three different level yoga classes on Thursday and Saturday, registration is required, and you can call 845-832-6605 to register! Again the Dover Library phone number is 845-832-6605.
Don’t forget about the annual book sale on Saturday from 10am-4pm!
If you are looking for other kinds of entertainment, the Dover Seniors have activities and crafts, including Bingo! every Monday and Thursday at the American Legion.
It’s going to be a great summer week in Dover Plains, so please take the short drive to visit with your neighboring town this week!
