Pawling Public Radio’s 2012 Writing Contest has resulted in winning entries in grades 7 through 12 from students attending Pawling High School, Trinity Pawling, and Mizzentop Day School.
The winners will have the opportunity to have their entry published on the PPR web site, as well as record their stories in the studio for broadcast for our on-line radio station. The recorded pieces will also be imbedded into the web site on the 2012 Writing Contest page.
The winning high school senior, Katherine Santeramo, from Pawling High School, will receive a $250.00 college scholarship. The winning high school junior, Rachel Rose Velez, also from PHS, will be presented with the Pawling Public Radio Edward R. Murrow Book Award, generously donated by the Pawling Book Cove. The other winners are: 10th Grade – Chris Hatter, Trinity Pawling; 9th Grade – John McIvor of PHS; 8th Grade (tie) Will Bleveans and Emma Wilson, both of Mizzentop Day School; and 7th Grade – Kenny McDougal from TP.
