So, you are setting up some new electronics at home on a Sunday afternoon and you realize that you need a USB cord to finish your project, but…”darn!” You neglected to pick one up the last time you were at the electronics store somewhere in Danbury or Poughkeepsie!
Now, if you had bought your new thingamajig at Pawling’s own Radio Shack on Route 22, the lovely people who operate this cozy, well stocked shop, would have made sure you walked out with all the necessary cords, batteries, and accoutrements to accomplish a successful set up. But, never fear! Since Pawling’s Radio Shack is open seven days a week, you can pop on down and pick up what you need to complete the task at hand.
When I sat down to chat with store manager Colin Napolitano, and Joanna Osborne, who runs the business end of things, last week, they impressed upon me how consumer-friendly they are…how willing they are to “work with the community” to provide the best, competitive prices on almost anything your heart desires (in electronics!) If you want it, and they don’t carry it…they will order it for you and you will have it in two days…tops! They can get you parts for ANYTHING! As a privately owned franchise of Radio Shack, they have access to all Radio Shack products, as well as product lines from many other sources.
Having moved from their Kalyto Plaza location about two years ago, they are currently housed in the Pawling Plaza at 31 Route 22. “We tell people it’s the Dollar General Plaza,” says Colin. However, this Radio Shack has been a part of the Pawling landscape, with its current owner, since 1996.
The friendly folks at RS can perform all the usual customer friendly services, like transferring your data to a new cell phone, basic repairs to your computer, and they will even come to your home or place of business to help you set up your new computer. They have a lot of what today’s consumers are looking for also -like stereo systems and home theater systems, security systems, Roku and Omni Boxes, all pre-paid cellular phones, smart phones and CB’s , antennas, and mounts…and tons and tons of accessories. Pawlingites really don’t have to go elsewhere…and with their friendly pricing and service, the money you save on wear and tear by going outside of Pawling for your electronic needs, is simply an added bonus…not to mention their willingness and ability to recycle your old electronics like printers, batteries, TVs, and computers.
So, before you head out to Danbury or Poughkeepsie for your next hi-tech purchase, visit your friends at Pawling’s Radio Shack, and support our local businesses. You’ll save time and it won’t cost you an extra dime!
Radio Shack is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10-5. You can call them at 845-855-1710. Their web site and Facebook page is in the works and coming soon!
