Favors
By: Liz Broderick
If you were strolling past Mama’s Pizza on Monday, April 12th, you most likely noticed something out of place. A bunch of camera equipment, a little more quiet than usual, and a new waitress behind the counter may have made you take a second glance. Well wipe that confused look off your face because you experienced just a fraction of the work that has been going into the new Pawling Public Radio production, Favors.
Written by Pawling High School senior, Christine O’Neill, Favors takes you through a whirlwind of drama, friendships, relationships, and, of course, favors. This teenage-oriented production, depicting a chain reaction of events, will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you questioning at the end of every episode, each of which will last anywhere from a few short minutes to a longer string of scenes.
The show features high school students Chris Barberesi, Liz Broderick, Christine O’Neill, Shannon O’Neill, Darren Palmer, and Garret White, playing roes of fictional high school students living in the town of Stillwater and trying to overcome the adolescent difficulties they must continuously face. When an average girl, Jane Blankenship (Broderick) unwittingly performs favors for Tucker (Barberesi) and Leo (White), she finds her diary. The diary, a prized possession of Jane’s, describes in detail her interest for fellow classmate Valdez (Palmer). The slew of scenarios that follow are exciting, surprising, and a must-see. Mark Wheeler and Susan Stone are working in tandem to produce this new show while the young actors and actresses do their best to make the vision come alive. Keep an eye out for the new series that will be coming to pawlingpublicradio.org soon for all to enjoy.
