Pawling Public Radio has added a new, 30- minute-long food show to its weekly lineup, The Blue Olive Radio Show. With a lighthearted conversational tone and mix of topics including home cooking, family and culture, restaurants, olive oil and vinegar, community agriculture and wines and spirits, The Blue Olive Radio Show aims to discuss everything that touches food.
Co-owner and founder of The Blue Olive Shop in Pawling and Cold Spring, New York, John Canevari was drawn to radio because it allows for long-form conversation that isn’t always possible with every customer interaction he has in the store.
“It’s important to have these conversations,” says Canevari. “Life is essentially centered around food, either directly at the dinner table or in some ancillary manner – food is critical to so many aspects of so many lives. And this provides an array of material to work from, that only a weekly radio show could provide.” Canevari continued “the width of these conversations will be wide and varied, which will allow for many voices to provide insight and learning.”
To hear the show locally, tune in to Pawling Public Radio at 103.7 FM from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. every Sunday starting February 18, 2018. Streaming is also be available on pawlingpublicradio.org.
