Now that fall is around the corner and people are returning from vacation, Pawling residents and PPR friends are invited to participate in a theatre lab training program with Roger Hendricks Simon – a NYC Director and Coach.
Registration is now open to area residents who would like to participate as actors, writers, directors, singers, technicians and producers.
This is a rare opportunity to train with this seasoned professional whose award-winning SIMON STUDIO training lab is in its 35th year in New York City. Mr. Simon has worked with John Travolta, John Lithgow, James Earl Jones, James Woods, Yale Rep, N.Y. Shakespeare Festival, London’s Royal Court Theatre, to name just a few of the recognizable names in his extensive resume. The Artistic Director will be holding a series of five training sessions here in Pawling using his proven “gymnasium approach” – mixing participants with varied skills together for an enjoyable and valuable learning experience.
Pawling Public Radio’s Theatre Hour Committee has already produced new, exciting and professionally produced radio performances by local writers, casting local actors. Here is an opportunity to prepare for PPR’s next casting call! In the lab, participants will work on a full array of skills including physical and vocal preparation, diction, cold reading, classical and contemporary works, adaptation of work for radio, etc. So whether you are looking to brush up existing acting skills, add to your confidence, find a way to use your technical skills on PPR’s radio performance projects or just enjoy the process of learning something new, the lab is a great opportunity.
The Fall Lab will begin September 24th – and continue on October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd – 6:00 – 8:30 PM. The cost for all 5 session is $175.00. Advanced registration is required as space is limited.
