Pawling Public Radio has been given the opportunity to broadcast excerpts from the original NBC Radio Network news broadcast of November 22, 1963, in which the nation learned of the unfolding tragedy of President John F Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas, Texas. This will conclude with the live recorded Lee Harvey Oswald assassination, which took place in the garage of the Dallas Police Department a few days later.
This PPR special will begin at 1:30 p.m. EST on Friday, November 22, with the first bulletin, breaking into regular NBC programming, at approximately 1:32 p.m., and will cover the events as they were reported live that day . Included in this one hour special will be minor commentary with interviews and reactions of folks of the day. We will re-broadcast this programming in it’s entirely at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
