On Sunday, November 17, Pawling Public Radio honored seven of Pawling’s most passionate volunteers at its Third Annual Voices of Pawling Awards. The brunch and awards ceremony took place at the Pawling Fire House at noon, with 160 community members, friends and family gathered to celebrate.
This year’s honorees were: Long time Pawling residents Adrian “Butch” Anderson, Sheriff of Dutchess County, and Charlie Daniels, both honored for their service to many of Pawling’s adults and children in need; Mark DelBalzo was recognized for his work with Pawling youth sports organizations; Marie Di Lorenzo for her leadership and service to Pawling’s 116-year-old Pawling Shakespeare Club, (the oldest chartered club in New York State); Nada Davis, for her many years of service to the Historical Society of Quaker Hill and Pawling; Everett White, Pawling Volunteer Fire Department Chief; and Christy Reinhardt, founder of Crew’s Voice, a not-for–profit organization assisting children and their families affected by Autism.
Pawling Public Radio’s Board of Directors, led by Chairman Mike Shustak, organized the event. Carol-Lee Kantor, board member, was committee chair. Additional members of the PPR Board include Amy Emke, Celeste Bevelacqua, Lisa Salisbury, Lisa D’Ottavio, Kurt Schlessinger and Susan Stone. Many community volunteers were on hand or contributed to make this a successful affair. Among them, Elizabeth Waller, Tori Tanner, Antoinette Perpepaj , Stephanie Rogers, Aaron Emke, “Chef” James Heubel, Bernadette Shustak, Gina Sullivan, Verna Carey, Joe Kantor, Eileen and Tim King, Forbes Linkhorn, Jamie Stone, Phil Salisbury and the children performers from Mary Gray’s Circle of Music, a local studio for budding musicians.
Pawling Public Radio was proud to receive support for this event from several area businesses and organizations.
