There was a Town Board meeting at the Town Hall at 7 o’clock on Wednesday, July 9th. David P. Kelly, Town Supervisor, William Johnson, Councilman and Deputy Supervisor, and Councilmen Phil DeRosa, Michael Montemarano, and Paul Upham were all in attendance, as was the Town Clerk, Catherine Giordano. Following the Roll Call and the Pledge of Allegiance, Nancy Tanner and Betsy Brockway presented on the improvement and revitalization of Murrow and Lakeside Parks. Then, Rick O’Rourke discussed the formation of a Waterworks Corporation.
The approval of the meeting minutes of the previous June 4th and June 11th meetings followed. Privilege of the Floor with respects to items on the agenda only was granted for three minutes, and then the Town Board went on to discuss the Consent Agenda, comprised of the payment of bills for the Town of Pawling, and Billing for Pawling Water District #2. After, the Non Consent Agenda was read through, comprised of the Rejection of Bid and Reauthorization of Bid for the Holmes-Whaley Lake Civic Center (HWLCC) Elevator Project, the Award of Bid for two 30 Yard Open Top Heavy Duty Roll-Off Containers, the Authorization for the Town Supervisor to retain the services of a Real Estate Appraisal for the Dutcher House property because of a tax certification matter, the reading of the (New York) State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR.A) Short Form for the Whaley Lake Dam Rehabilitation Project, and the resolution adopting a negative declaration (signifying that no adverse environmental impact will occur) for the Whaley Lake Dam Project under State Environmental Quality Review Act.
Further business to come before the Board discussed were the Bundy Hill Road Asphalt Paving Bid, the LDS Church Property, the Employee Handbook to be released to the Labor Council for review, the re-construction of the Lakeside Park basketball court, skate park, and enclosed small children’s play area, and the motion to appoint an Ad Hoc Workgroup Steering Committee to the Town Board. The Privilege of the Floor with respects to Agenda and non-Agenda items followed for three minutes, until the meeting was adjourned. The next Town Board meeting will be Wednesday, August 13th at 7 pm at the Town Hall.
