The Pawling Central School District’s Board of Education held a meeting August 5 to continue the discussion started in July on how to operate for the 2014-2015 school year.
The company hired to build a new bus garage for the district was happy to announce that all contractors were on schedule and within budget, and the garage would likely be in operation by October. The board expressed great satisfaction with the progress made.
Superintendent of Schools William Ward also provided the public with an update on the technology upgrades going on in the district. Servers and computers will be upgraded, and most importantly, emergency equipment will continue to be brought up to date.
The Alternative Veterans’ Exemption survey is still under way, and all Pawling residents are encouraged to express their opinions to the School Board on whether to adopt the measure.
It should also be noted that the Board is making the choice to switch to paper-free meetings in an effort to save on printing costs and to save some trees.
MP3’s of the meetings, as well as the minutes of each meeting, can be found on the Pawling School District’s website.
