Salutations Pawling and Dover! My name is Nicholas (Nick) Luber and I am a summer intern at the Pawling Public Radio Station so that I may add some learning and variety to my summer break! In 2014, along with 106 of my peers, including previous intern, and friend, Rebecca Nguyen, I graduated from Dover High School. I am now a member of Columbia University in the City of New York’s Class of 2018 where I major in Astrophysics with a minor in Mathematics and Philosophy.
I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and when I was one year old my mother, Mary Luber, brother, TJ Walker, and I moved back up to Dutchess County where my mother was born and raised. When I was seven my mother and I moved to Dover to live with my mother’s new husband George Green, a member of the Pawling community for life.
Despite my interests residing primarily in the Science and Mathematics fields, I chose to become a summer intern at Pawling Public Radio due to my love of the community and editorializing. I have always tried my hardest to be an active member in this community and the intern position will enhance my capability to do this. As far as the editorializing goes, anybody who has ever held a conversation with me knows that I frequently interject stories from my life and this community and am looking forward to spreading the news about all the intriguing things in our communities.
Here at the station I will be trying my best to be useful at the station while also keeping everybody up to date on the happenings of the Pawling and Dover area. If you have a story that you think warrants an article or just want to talk about the community you can reach me at nml2153@columbia.edu
