The Pawling Varsity Boy’s Basketball played two games this week. On Monday, February 4th they topped Dover with a final score of 79-52 – Pawling’s Senior Night at Pawling High School. Justin Mayette scored 16 points and John Able added 14 points. Sean Morris and Matt Morrison added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Pawling. Everyone on the team contributed to the game and the gym was packed to celebrate the Seniors who will be graduating in June. The parents of the Seniors (with help from family and the undergrad teams families) hosted a post-dinner for the entire team and their families, coaches, athletic director and the event staff.
On Tuesday, February 5 they played their last scheduled league game against Putnam Valley but fell short during the fourth quarter. The Tigers had a 7 point lead at the end of the first quarter but only had a 3 point lead at half time with a score of Pawling 27 Putnam Valley 24. Pawling continued to keep a small 4-point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter but could not maintain it for the win. Domenic Farese had 13 points and the final Score was Pawling 45 Putnam Valley 59.
The Pawling Tigers Boys Varsity team will continue their practices as they prepare to play in a sectional game to be determined.
