Katherine’s Kraft Korner: How to Make Easy Christmas Ornaments

Tis’ the season of cooking and gift giving. A Christmas ornament project is a great way to keep the little ones out of the kitchen, and they make great gifts, too. Today I’ll tell you how to make them out of cardboard.

The materials you will need are: a piece of cardboard (a paper plate works also), glitter, paint, scissors, and ribbon.

First, get a piece of cardboard or a paper plate.  Draw a shape on the cardboard and have an adult cut it out, this will be your ornament.  I’m making a tree. Some other shapes you can use are hearts, circles, or stars.

Next, paint your ornament.  Since it’s Christmas time, I’m using green – but you can use any color you want. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle your choice of glitter onto the ornament. Let the ornament dry completely.

Once it dries, have an adult poke a hole in the top and tie a ribbon through it.  Now it’s ready to be put on the tree or given as a gift!
