After working diligently, Putnam Service Dogs has met the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability of the Better Business Bureau® (BBB ®) to become a BBB Accredited Charity. The BBB Standards assist donors in making sound giving decisions and fostering public confidence in charities. The Standards seek to encourage fair and honest solicitation practices, to promote ethical conduct by charities, and to advance the support of philanthropy.

To qualify as a BBB Accredited Charity, Putnam Service Dogs had to provide documentation to the BBB Foundation of Metro New York (ny.give.org) that they meet basic standards in how they govern their organization, the way they spend their money, the truthfulness of their representations, and their willingness to disclose basic information to the public.

Putnam Service Dogs has been accredited as complying with all 20 of the BBB Standards for charities. They are authorized to be a BBB Accredited Charity Seal Holder, and display the BBB Seal on their website, social media, and other marketing materials.

Putnam Service Dogs provides free service dogs and follow-up support services to people with physical disabilities other than blindness. They incorporated in NY State in 2016 as a nonprofit corporation, and are a 501(c)3, and Platinum Guidestar Organization.

Their mission statement is: Our service dogs change lives. We champion the nurturing bond between dogs and humans.
