In tribute to the late artist Leslie Enders Lee, Pawling’s Gallery on the Green will celebrate the “Dog Days” of August by presenting an exhibition of dogs in art. Leslie originated the Dog Days concept a few years ago. This group show will open on August 27 and run through September 17, 2011. An opening reception will be held between the hours of 5 and 7pm on August 27.
Featured art will be paintings by Alice McAdams, Arlene Nadel, Stacie Flint, C. C. Long, Denisa Fenton and other regional artists plus the photography by John Curry and Dana Lee. Prints by Leslie Lee will also be on exhibit.
One of Leslie’s biggest projects was the completion of 13 “Hats Off” bronze sculptures honoring the people who live and work in Pawling, which will soon be installed on the Pawling Green. Partial proceeds from the sale of the dog art will go to dog rescue organizations. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to consult some of the artists about commissioning work of your favorite pooch.
