As part of PPR’s Operation Respect initiative, “Puff the Magic Dragon” Valentines were created by our Education Committee for students in our schools to color and sign for distribution to local Seniors. “Standing up for friends near and far, cuz you are special, yes you are!”, is the message of respect and compassion that is part of PPR’s year long effort in support of building a community of kindness and thoughtfulness among our children.
Over two hundred and fifty Valentines were beautifully colored and signed by Pawling’s youngsters and taken by PPR volunteers to DutchessCenter for Rehabilitation and Healthcare,The Kings Apartments, and The Fountains in Millbrook. The valentines will be received by the seniors on February 14.
Pawling Public Radio thanks Dr. Debra Kirkhus, of PawlingElementary School. Dolores Ragsdale of Pawling Community Services and Mr. Steve Cash of Mizzentop for supporting this effort.
