Arim and Tas Isobel are the almost newly-weds who are the proud proprietors of Pawling’s newest eatery, Is A Burger. Tucked away at 6 North Broad Street (next to the post office), Is A Burger was the brainchild of this delightful couple who love being a part of the Pawling business landscape, love meeting community members, students, and Pawling parents who come in for one of the delicious menu options, and love planning for the warmer months, when the patio will be rebuilt and open and their liquor license in place.
Spring will also see additions to their menu to include paninis and salads. They are also considering adding barbeque as well, because Arim, a professionally trained chef, is the World Champ in Barbeque cookery, his title won in the Kansas City, Missouri International Cook Off, where he represented America’s cooking talents along with chefs representing 40 other countries. He is also the winner of the Daily News Best BBQ in New York City, along with Best Ribs and Best Chili!
Aside from the Is A Burger “IS A Burger” served on a glazed donut which offers diners the ultimate in the sweet/savory category, Is A Burger’s burgers come with any number of free toppings, and offer several specialty burgers made with fresh tuna, turkey, or Portobello mushrooms; and a pulled pork sandwich with sweet bourbon barbeque sauce (another specialty)! Everything is made with freshly ground-on-the-premises meats, with no additives or preservatives, and cooked to Arim’s very particular specifications. … And with the warmer weather and liquor license right around the corner, Arim is thinking about Friday nights featuring local bands or even an open mic format, since he already has a great sound system in place.
So, as we head into spring and warmer weather which bring us out into the sunshine, head on over to Is A Burger and say hello to Arim and his bride Tas. They really do have a great summer planned!
