A spooktacular event occurred on Halloween day at the Pawling Animal Clinic, 550 Rt. 22 in Pawling, NY. Organized by Ericka Gunther, LVT, the hospital manager, Drs. Lisa Walling and Erin Schulz were there, as well as most of the friendly staff. Dr. Walling created balloon animals (a talent I did not know they taught in veterinary school). Dr. Schulz donated a Mary Kay goody bag to raffle. They also offered free nail clippings, pet-friendly raffles from Coast to Coast Dog Treats and Pawsome Pet Pantry of Wingdale, and the office offered a 3 month supply of Frontline , and a lot of fun. Pets came in costume, a dazzling array of fairies, pirates, clowns and cutie-pies. Also offered were pet portraits in front of a gloriously scary backdrop created by the talented Bill Bonecutter, whose abilities extend well beyond his professional activities as a local realtor. A highlight of the event for this writer was the sparkly tattoos offered by Stella, Dr. Walling’s daughter. I came home with a rearing horse in gold and fuschia emblazoned on the left forearm, which has not failed to engender admiring commentary.
Attendance was gratifying with about 50 people/pet pairs attending the festivities throughout the afternoon for a preview sugar rush and a chance to meet the Pawling Animal clinic’s wonderful staff. Don’t forget, Dr. Walling and Erika Gunther also have a radio show on WPWL, Pawling All Pets, at 10AM Tuesdays and 5PM Thursdays.
