Want to eavesdrop on a panel dialogue on “Media Today and How Radio Fits into the Media of the Future”? Pawling Public Radio (PPR) is planning a unique Sunday afternoon fundraiser, beginning at 1pm on October 3, 2010, at the Quaker Hill Country Club. A light lunch will be followed with discussion by such distinguished panelists as: Moderator Rock Brynner who will introduce the panelists which include Soledad O’Brien, Timmian Massie, Marlene Sanders, Jonathon Dee, Timothy W. Kneeland and additional panelists as of today Anne Gluckern and Sally Jesse Raphael.
Elizabeth Peale Allen will conclude the event with a tour of this remarkable Country club so often associated with Lowell Thomas, Edward R. Murrow, and Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Pawling’s radio connection in the past.
Following the construction and/or purchase of a non-commercial pubic radio station (FM or AM) serving the Town and Village of Pawling and the Upper Harlem Valley of New York, PPR’s purpose will be to produce and broadcast programming of cultural and educational content as well as local, community interest, involving youth in the production/operation and to engage in all legal activities associated with non-commercial, educational radio stations operating under FCC Licensing Requirement and Service Regulation. An original Business Plan objective was to develop programming on the internet before building or acquiring a station.
Reservation potential is limited and can be made by mailing a check, as there are no physical tickets. Contributions to secure your seating are $75.00 per person, $125.00 per couple.
