Pawling Public Radio will host the First Annual “Voices of Pawling Awards” Sunday, March 27th at the Pawling Fire House on South Street. A brunch will be served beginning at noon, followed by the award presentations at 1:30 p.m.
Those being honored for their volunteerism are: Rev. Mark Bouffard, Ann Godesky, Tim King, Camille Ludington, Jim McCarthy, Jay Morales, Don & Martha Rink, and Marie Stewart, each for “Building Community—One Voice at a Time.” Recipients were chosen in the categories of education, community, the arts, sports, and business.
Besides the above honorees, one other person will be selected through a call in or e-mail vote by listeners. PPR listeners can choose someone from the community who they feel should be recognized for their contributions to Pawling and its residents. Listeners can vote for the “Community Voice Award” by calling or e-mailing 845-493-0355 or info@pawlingpublicradio.org. Please send your name, the name of the person you would like to nominate, and a few sentences as to why you think this person should be nominated. The deadline for submitting a honoree is March 14th.
The Fundraiser will help raise money needed for recording and broadcasting equipment. At present abbreviated programming can be heard on 101.7 FM in the village of Pawling, and in some parts of the town.
For more information or for tickets, call 845-493-0355 and leave a message. We will return your call within 48 hours.
