This year the Pawling Fire Department’s Carnival was a lively event attended by a diverse crowd of kids, teens, adults, and families from the local area.
The Carnival was filled with lights, attractions, and tradition. Crowds came out to see the annual Fireman’s Parade, win prizes, and to eat the local fare.
The games this year were whimsical and as fun as ever. Whether throwing darts to win posters, throwing balls into jars to win goldfish, whacking a high-striker to show off their strength, or doing everything and anything in their power to finally win that stuffed dolphin, each and every participant had a splendid time. And if the magnificent rush of winning an adorable stuffed animal in a noble contest was not gratification enough, all participants could rest easy knowing that their money was well spent and going to a good cause – the funding of our local Fire Department. Thank you, Pawling Fire Department, for a fantastic three days, and for your unfailing resolve in serving and protecting our community.
The delectable food at the Carnival was a collection of fresh products made by firefighters and donations from local businesses. Several of Pawling’s fine firefighters worked the grills, this time utilizing the heat instead of fighting it. Burgers, Italian sausage and peppers, and hot dogs were all served up to the people of Pawling. There were also several delectable sweet treats, including indulgent ice cream from Heinchon’s Dairy, freshly squeezed lemonade, a bake sale, fried dough, and even fried oreos! The Pawling Carnival was the place to be and to eat!
The Pawling Fire Department’s Carnival was a great event that brought the community together in tradition and summertime fun. We can’t wait until the next one!
