Hello! My name is Nicholas Kohomban, and I am the summer college intern at WPWL, Pawling Public Radio. I’m a recent graduate of Dover Plains High School, and currently a rising junior at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie studying Film and English Literature.
I was born in Riverdale, Bronx, to a family of social workers: my father Jeremy, an immigrant from Sri Lanka, and my mother Lisa, a New York native. A few years later, my family decided to move out of our cramped loft and into the suburbs, which eventually led to our settling in Pawling. I attended the Dover Union Free School District for the entirety of my primary schooling, and as aforementioned, wound up continuing my secondary education in the county. As my course of study might imply, I dedicate most of my time to pursuit of artistic endeavors. Though I plan to pursue a career in film production following my anticipated 2017 graduation, anyone who knows me can tell you I never travel far without a guitar slung across my back and notebook in hand. I’ve also been known to dabble in photography with an eye towards fashion.
Here at Pawling Public Radio, I’ll be taking over coverage of the Dover beat for my friend and fellow Dover graduate Rebecca Nguyen, as well as reporting on happenings in the Pawling area. If you have a story to tell you can reach me at at nikohomban@vassar.edu
