The Pawling School District closed out 2012 with a community vote to build a new Transportation facility at the High School Middle School campus. This was a long talked about proposition that has finally come to fruition. Now it’s budget season for the Pawling School District. Mr. Mahoney began the season with an input meeting asking the community to come with a wish list and ideas. He then presented his rudimentary budget at the first BOE meeting of the new year. Though he has proposed several changes, there are no major cuts like we had seen in the previous few years on the table. The BOE will be filling the vacancy left by Tony Polidore at the end of January. The conversation about the budget surplus continues and we will see where it leads as the budget season comes into full swing. Stay tuned for more budget info in the coming months.
